I love working with the Abundance area because it holds a depth of meaning, far beyond material abundance. It is really about the law of attraction and I write about this in my e-course Dancing with Energy: 9 Steps to Manifesting your Soul’s Desires with Feng Shui.

The Law of Attraction
The law of attraction says that whatever you think about, you attract. If you are thinking about scarcity, lack, waste, need, neglect, exploitation or manipulation — you will attract more of it. How do you feel when you read those words? Did your energy fall? Now think about the words abundance, plenty, equality, fairness, respect, attention and consideration. These words raise energy.

Abundance is really about the choices you make.  Your choices reflect your essential values, discovering what is important and valuable for you and letting go of whatever does not represents those values.

So, working with the Abundance area, imagining and experiencing your inner wealth, you can ask yourself what is important and valuable to you in each of the bagua areas:

reputation     •       relationship     •     creativity     •     helpful people
career     •     self knowledge    •    family

This is all well and good, I hear you say, but what about material abundance? That’s what I am really interested in. Getting clear about your essential values will help you attract material abundance.  (If you say, I don’t think about scarcity …  oh wait, you just did, didn’t you?) Without clarity on what you really want, those sneaky self-sabotaging thoughts creep into our thoughts and vocabulary.

Stay tuned for the rest of this series on the bagua areas, and refresh your memory by reading the first post in this series The Bagua Map: Family Heritage.

~*~ When to Enhance the Abundance Area ~*~

  • when you are ready to embrace abundance on all levels
  • when you have experienced a set back in any area of life

~*~ Colours to Use ~*~
Traditionally the colours for the Abundance area are red, blue and purple.

~*~ Element Symbols ~*~
The Element symbol for the Abundance area is Wood. Wood element symbols are healthy plants, flowers, objects made of wood, columns and floral prints, stripes.

~*~ Life Symbols ~*~
Images and symbols that represent abundance are those that have a good flow of energy. Water, for example, is traditionally associated with wealth. Water can be a bowl of water – perhaps with some flowers floating on top, a tabletop fountain, aquarium, courtyard or patio fountain or pool, and of course property located on a lake, river or ocean.

But beyond this, if an object, symbol or colour feels good to you, it is an appropriate life symbol for abundance.

~*~ How to Use ~*~
Use any of the enhancements of colour, element symbols or life symbols in the Abundance area of your home.
