The Bagua Map - Reputation
My interpretation of the Reputation area is that it is about pursing personal integrity. It is about being in alignment with who you really are, and finding and living your authentic self.
To be in a state of alignment with your authentic self, spend some time getting clarity on what you cherish and value most in life. If you could live an ideal life what would it be? What can you do to live those values more fully? For example if you highly value your friendships but find little time for them, make it a priority to contact one of your friends.
When you live your values you will experience emotions such as happiness, joy, passion or even enthusiasm — this is your authentic self.
Of course there are times when you will feel sad and depressed; when you feel worried or are grieving a loss, even while you are living your values. It is authentic to honour those emotions as they come up, as being one part of who you are. When you acknowledge your feelings and what is happening in your life at that moment, you are also in your authentic self. It is when you are unhappy but pretending all is well that you lose energy.
Reputation and Enlightenment
The Reputation area is the only one of the bagua that is represented by the element of Fire. Fire is light and warmth which radiates out in all directions. In the Kabbalist tradition, it is believed that each of us is a holy spark thrown out from a great luminescent source.
You are a receiver as well as a transmitter of light: You take light into your being when you are living authentically, and reflect it back to others. Simply put, happiness sheds light in dark places.
As you begin to glow with inner light, you can make significant changes in your own life and also in the world around you. The intensity of your inner light is up to you!

~*~ Colours to Use ~*~
Traditionally, the colour for the Reputation Area is all shades of red. I include all colours that give you a feeling of joyful radiance!
~*~ Element Symbols ~*~
The Element is Fire and symbols of fire include candles, lamps, fireplaces, stoves, electrical appliances, depictions of the sun, moon and stars. Shapes are pyramids and triangles. Textures are objects made from animals such as leather or wool.
~*~ Life Symbols ~*~
Anything that represents who you really are inside - your inner light. Include objects that remind you of your values and passions in life, those that fill you with joy and happiness each time you look at them. Traditionally one includes awards, diplomas, prizes or acknowledgments in the Reputation area.
~*~ How to Use ~*~
Use any of the enhancements of colour, element symbols or life symbols in the Reputation area of your home.
