I have found exactly the same thing in my healing practice and can even often detect an inner resistance to change from the client who has "been volunteered" into having a course of therapy. It's strange, isn't it? How someone can resist something that would bring them benefit? That's what I used to think. However I now believe that we are all entitled to have the life we choose and it is up to us to decide otherwise. In my personal life, I make sure to stay away from people who want to try to drag me down to their level. After all, I can choose what I want for my life too!
