Being of Service: Becoming an IA Practitioner

being-of-service-becoming-an-ia-practitioner

Do you love to assist others in fulfilling their dreams?  Do you enjoy discovering how our environments and energy influence our daily life, our productivity and our success?   Then, perhaps you have considered becoming a Feng Shui and Space Clearing consultant!

Interior Alignment™ practitioners work to create harmonious, healthy environments that support the goals and deepest intentions of our clients.  Using a rich blend of techniques gathered from around the world, we balance the energy of homes, offices, gardens and plots of land.

An Interior Alignment™  consultation can take many forms.  We may utilize Feng Shui and perform a Space Clearing ceremony.  We may do clutter clearing or work with color.  We may incorporate a Synchro-Alignment guided meditation or complete a Healthy Home assessment. Many times the consultation is done over a period of several sessions, beginning with an interview to assess the client’s intention for the home and their life. The IA Practitioner and client work together closely to make the best possible adjustments to the environment, generating spaces that not only feel good, but also nourish the intentions and goals that were identified.

As Interior Alignment™  Practitioners, we consider a consultation to be one of the highest and most honorable ways to be of service to others.

What does it take to become a Interior Alignment™  consultant, you might wonder.  Well, the first requirement is an open heart and a willingness to assist and empower others.  It takes awareness and observation.  And, it takes some curiosity about how our environments impact our health, vitality, creativity, relationships and productivity.

Beyond this, you simply need to complete the Interior Alignment™  training program with one of our skilled Master Teachers to become proficient in the Interior Alignment methods.

There are no prerequisites, other than a genuine desire to make a difference!

Clear Clutter to Change your Life

Published by Deborah under Feng Shui Quotes

Clearing your clutter is one of the quickest ways to change your life, but proceed carefully. Clearing too much clutter too fast can cause a healing crisis. We are so attached to our stuff that sometimes when clutter leaves our home it can feel like losing part of ourselves.

What clutter in the rooms of your house mean

Published by Deborah under Clutter, Deborah, Feng Shui

Where does your clutter live? Under your bed? In the attic? The Basement?

According to feng shui principles, the places where clutter takes root is meaningful but we are often not aware of what that meaning is. The following examples do not have to be true all the time of course, but something definitely worth thinking about as you clear your clutter.

Attic: Represents things hanging over your head, goals or dreams beyond your reach.

Bathroom: Plumbing is related to the emotions. Repressed emotions: feeling blocked, holding on to the past, people or events. Excessive emotions: weepy, verbal diarrhea or ranting.

Bedroom: Needing a great deal of privacy, hiding yourself or some aspect of your life from the world, being out of touch with your emotions or your inner self.

Basement: Suppressed emotions, unconscious beliefs, thoughts, patterns of behaviour, lack of foundation or roots in your life.

Cupboards: Upper cupboards, same for attic. Lower cupboards, same for basement.

Dining room: Feeling unnourished, un-nurtured, not taking care of your health, or lacking a sense of community in your life.

Kitchen: not fully allowing abundance, the harvest — what you have been working towards, into your life.

Living Room: difficult or absent relationships, feeling unconnected from loved ones and your community.

Under: (bed, cabinets, cupboards, etc.) Feeling bogged down.

What Clutter Can Teach You

Published by Deborah under Clutter, Deborah, Energy, Feng Shui

what-clutter-can-teach-you

It might be difficult to see clutter as a gift, but it really is!  Here’s why:

Clutter releases blocked energy, so whenever you need a quick fix or an energy boost, spend some time clearing out a drawer or closet — no more than half an hour — but do it thoroughly. Allocate objects to their proper homes, package up anything being recycled and dispose of anything that is going to the trash. In other words — avoid clearing the drawer and just making separate piles of things you are going to take care of later. Notice how you feel afterwards. I always feel lighter.

On its own without doing anything else, clearing clutter can change your life.  For many people it can be as powerful as feng shui. It is a necessary first step in space clearing, and it is contagious — family members often begin addressing their own clultter when one member begins.

Once you’ve begun, clutter clearing is an ongoing process that is more about choices and mindfulness. Many people have a rule: one thing in, one thing out. That’s mindfulness, when you have to figure out what has to go out in order to make room for the new thing. It also encourages you to ask: do I really need this? Do I want it? Because I see recycling as clutter, it also helps me when I am shopping for food. Do I really want an item if it has a lot of extra packaging I will have to store until recycling day? And even though I believe in recycling, I believe even more strongly in reducing my footprint on the earth. Do I want the responsibility of adding to things that need to be recycled?

Clutter has taught me about living more simply. When moving from one coast to another, I pared down to the extreme and had to dispose of a lot of my belongings: some things were sold, others given to friends and a lot went to charity. As our things left and went on their separate journeys I had to acknowledge the true value of all the things we had gathered around us. There are times (nearly 4 years later) that I wonder where something ended up, but I have never regretted the decision to pare down.

Finally clutter has taught me that the true treasures of my life are the ones I carry inside me.

Clutter Clearing

There have been many posts in our Interior Alignment™ Blog about Clutter Clearing. Clutter clearing has also gotten a lot of press in magazines and web sites coming from many different angles. Interior Alignment asks that clutter clearing be done with intention and purpose. It also asks that you take on only what you can handle.

Intention changes “spring cleaning” fervor, tidiness, or neatness to loving yourself enough to take the time to look at your life through your possessions. Purpose involves the life problem you may be seeking more information or solutions to. Purpose includes a lightening of body, mind and spirit by releasing those items that may be weighing heavily. Taking on only what you can handle….is your attachment to your things a symptom of some larger problems?

The steps to consider: set aside a time to begin, set a time limit for each session, divide items into save, give away, and sell. Bring in help if you know your attachments are strong. And lighten up! as you lighten up.
